“De-Antiquing with Susan” A Great Success

Lifelong Learning was privileged to host WKU Alum Susan Eberman (Allen, ’65) as she shared her expertise in a session titled, “De-Antiquing with Susan.”  Offered on Tuesday night and again on Wednesday morning, audiences were treated to the retired teacher’s delivery of important information about preparing mentally for the task of downsizing collections and family heirlooms.  Susan’s presentation was sprinkled with personal stories that helped illustrate her unique expertise on topics such as how to determine the value of items and creative ways to dispose of antiques and collectibles.

Susan also shared ideas for repurposing items of sentimental value.  Her antique glass floral frog now sits on her desk serving as a pen and pencil holder as well as a reminder of the cherished family member who used it years ago.  She also provided the participants with a valuable list of contacts to use when engaged in de-antiquing.  The program was quite successful, and we look forward to bringing Susan back again.
